Role Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Junior System Administrator to join our IT operations team. This entry-level role combines traditional Helpdesk support with hands-on exposure to system administration tasks such as user management, server maintenance, and scripting. Itʼs a great opportunity for someone eager to build foundational skills while contributing to mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Helpdesk Support (Tier 1 & 2):

  • Provide timely technical support to internal users via ticketing system, phone, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with user onboarding/offboarding (account creation, access rights, workstation setup).
  • Maintain and update IT documentation and FAQs

System Administration & Infrastructure:

  • Assist with monitoring, patching, and maintaining servers (Windows and/or Linux).
  • Support basic network troubleshooting and escalation (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, etc.).
  • Perform system checks and support backups, scheduled jobs, and system alerts.
  • Help manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and shared drives.

Automation and Scripting:

  • Write or modify basic scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate routine tasks.
  • Contribute to documentation and internal tooling to improve workflow efficiency

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of IT support or helpdesk experience
  • Familiarity with Windows desktop and server environments; basic Linux knowledge a plus
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Exposure to Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Bash preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and customer-service mindset
  • Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with system monitoring tools or ticketing systems (e.g., Zoho, Zendesk, or equivalent)
  • Exposure to virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) or cloud services (Azure, AWS)
  • Basic understanding of security best practices (password policies, MFA)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
