Job Description

The Junior Programmer plays a key role within TACS by supporting the design, development, and optimization of data systems and applications. This position serves as a critical link between client data and internal systems, ensuring information is managed efficiently, accurately, and securely. The Junior Programmer will work closely with senior developers, analysts, and business teams to support client facing and internal initiatives, directly contributing to TACS’s ability to deliver exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, testing, and implementation of software applications and databases.
• Perform database engineering tasks including data conversions, query development, reporting, and process optimization.
• Support the integration of client data into internal systems, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with senior programmers to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application or database issues.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools, reporting dashboards, and automation scripts.
• Document processes, code, and technical specifications to support long-term maintainability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance system performance and efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in SQL, PL-SQL, and database management concepts.
• Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for reporting and data visualization.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Visual Basic, and PowerShell.
• Exposure to ASPX for web application development.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Internship or previous experience in programming, database management, or IT support.
• Understanding of data security practices and compliance considerations.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
