IT Manager I
The Department of Administration's (Admin) Office of Technology and Information Services is the state’s central provider of IT services to state government agencies. We are growing and now is a great time to join State Government! We are seeking a talented IT Manager I to join our team. This position will serve as the head of asset control and be responsible for hardware/software Inventory for Admin. Work closely with Procurement to ensure visibility and correct processes are followed for technology acquisition and disposal. Responsibilities of the IT Manager I:
  • Manage the entire IT Inventory process: methods, procedures, inventory, productivity, aging, documentation, and sourcing for Admin.
  • Document and maintain existing technology inventory inside the agency. This includes but is not limited to identifying current surplus in need of disposal, physical inventory of devices, asset tagging, etc.
  • Assist customers with inventory problems and provide management with inventory reports on a regular basis.
  • Document and define Asset procedures and processes. Seek to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and experience in computer science or a related field. A combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the principles and concepts of asset management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to plan and organize technology inventory and deployment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with Vendors under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Service Now preferred.
  • Knowledge of state surplus process preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Asset Management or inventory control experience preferred.
