ABOUT US:
We are looking for a highly skilled Founding Engineer / System Architect who will contribute directly to our code base while taking a lead role in helping design and guide the technical foundation of Arlow, our AI system of action platform for aging in place. As a key early team member, you will ensure our architecture is scalable, secure, and adaptable as we move from Alpha to MVP and beyond.
In addition to guiding platform architecture, this role will own the DevOps strategy, implementing best practices for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and system monitoring. You’ll work directly with our product and outsourced engineering teams as we begin to transition additional development resources in-house, helping ensure business needs translate into technical solutions while staying hands-on in delivery.
We are looking for someone who enjoys having their hands directly in the code, who can architect systems, and has a particular interest in mobile applications.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of innovation, architecture, design, and implementation.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
At Arlow, you’ll be part of a mission-driven startup building technology that helps millions of older adults, their families, and caregivers thrive.
As our Founding Engineer, you’ll shape the core architecture of our product, influence key technical decisions, and see your work directly impact people’s lives.

Development & Implementation
- Collaborate with engineers (agency and internal) to design, build, and refine core platform features.
- Contribute to core development efforts, maintaining strong fluency in modern frameworks.
- Ensure that system architecture supports our product roadmap, including AI integration, caregiver tools, and multi-tenant scalability.
DevOps & Infrastructure
- Stay hands-on in coding critical components where needed.
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth, automated deployments.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code for repeatable environments.

- solutions architect.
- Strong expertise in cloud-based architecture (Google Cloud Platform).
- Background in developing consumer-facing products.
- Experience delivering mobile applications, ideally in both iOS and Android ecosystems.
- Comfortable moving between high-level system design and hands-on coding.
- Experience designing scalable platforms with modern frameworks (Node.js, Python, React, etc.).
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration, data pipelines, and conversational interfaces.
- Proven ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with product, design, and leadership teams.
- Healthcare experience with a strong understanding of data privacy.
- Excited to contribute directly to engineering in a lean, early-stage environment.
