Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re hiring a Solutions Architect to support a leading enterprise client on a fully remote, long-term contract based out of Hartford, CT.

In this role, you’ll contribute to several large-scale technology initiatives within a multi-year transformation program focused on modernizing systems that support contact centers, digital experiences, conversational AI, and service operations workflows. Working across multiple SAFe Agile Release Trains, you’ll define technical direction, drive scalable integrations, and align solutions with enterprise architecture standards spanning cloud platforms, APIs, and distributed systems.

This is a contract position with regular Monday–Friday daytime hours, expected to last 1+ year. Pay ranges from $65 to $75 per hour, paid weekly. This role is benefits eligible.

Solutions Architect Responsibilities:

• Extensive experience in systems integration across complex, enterprise environments.

• Strong background in architecting and developing large-scale systems using disciplined, rigorous design approaches.

• Skilled in requirements analysis, estimation, systems design, application design, and testing processes.

• Proficiency with modern programming languages and frameworks including Java, JavaScript, Node.js, messaging and queuing architectures, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure.

• Experience with distributed computing, concurrency control, parallelism, and race-condition mitigation.

• Strong collaboration, influence, and consensus-building skills across product, program, engineering, and stakeholder groups.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present architecture solutions to diverse audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities independently.

• Proven track record delivering high-quality software solutions using Agile methodologies and working on Agile teams.

• Experience with SAFe development environments and multi-train program delivery.

• Familiarity with design patterns and architecture best practices.

• Experience facilitating stakeholder and partner meetings.

Solutions Architect Qualifications:

• Architectural experience with cloud-native platforms, especially AWS and GCP (preferred).

• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including normalization, denormalization, sharding, and data-centric patterns (preferred).

• Background in GenAI and Conversational AI (e.g., RAG frameworks, vector search, embeddings, IBM WatsonX, Google Dialogflow) (preferred).

• Experience designing high-quality, developer-friendly REST APIs (preferred).

• Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps, distributed caching, and event-driven architectures (preferred).

• Experience with workflow and case-management tools such as ServiceNow or Salesforce (preferred).

• Familiarity with SAFe software development principles (preferred).
