Position Summary:
The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is seeking a talented Snowflake Administrator, who will play a pivotal role in managing the Snowflake data platform to ensure its reliability, performance, and security for approximately one year. The ideal candidate’s expertise will contribute to the organization's data-driven initiatives and help drive business success through effective data management and analytics.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a database administrator.
- 2+ years of experience as Snowflake DBA.
- 4+ years of experience working in Azure cloud environments.
- High skills at query, index and performance tuning, stores procedures, and SQL coding.
- Strong DBA administration skills for all DB maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity, and consistency checks, etc.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems, performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of Snowflake security features including access control, authentication, authorization, encryption, masking, secured view, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop & maintain a big data platform using Snowflake.
- Implement security, roles, users, and privileges using the best practices.
- Build and implement automation for production deployment in Snowflake as appropriate.
- Develop solutions to recurring problems and resolve data related issues.
- Monitor databases to optimize database performance. Identify, tune, and fix performance issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake database errors. Raise support tickets, follow ups, as needed.
- Work with diverse teams and users, from data engineers to data analysts.
- Provide database/objects recovery as needed.
- Create database, schema, tables, views, data sharing, data pipelines.
- Create Snowflake utilization and capacity/cost plans, identifies, and provide solution for abnormalities.
- Proactively identify, design, and implement improvements like automating manual processes, optimizing data flow, increase scalability, etc.
- Keep up to date with the latest features and best practices in Snowflake administration.
- Create and maintain new runbooks for new and improved processes.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
