Job description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer / Data Center Architect to support ongoing infrastructure design, optimization, and implementation efforts. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can operate both strategically (architecture/design) and tactically (hands-on engineering) in a flexible, part-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-availability data center and network infrastructures
• Evaluate and improve existing network environments (LAN/WAN, spine-leaf, hybrid cloud, etc.)
• Lead or support data center migrations, consolidations, and expansions
• Develop network standards, documentation, and best practices
• Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues across multiple environments
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time
• Provide guidance on capacity planning, performance optimization, and resiliency

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering and/or data center architecture
• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
• Proven experience designing and implementing data center architectures (spine-leaf, VXLAN, EVPN, etc.)
• Experience with firewalls, load balancers, and network security best practices
• Familiarity with virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, AWS, Azure, or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
• Knowledge of SD-WAN and modern network design principles
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent
• Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments
