Position Overview
Theodore, AL (On-site)Genesis is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Specialist to support and maintain the company’s information technology systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable day-to-day IT operations, supporting end users, maintaining system security, and assisting with technology improvements that support sales, project management, compliance, and operations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, service-oriented, and comfortable supporting both office and field-based users in a fast-paced industrial business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support for employees, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across systems (email, ERP, CRM, file systems, VPNs)
Monitor and maintain network performance, backups, and system availability
Assist with cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, patching, and access controls
Support and maintain business systems such as ERP, CRM, inventory, and project management tools
Coordinate with third-party vendors and managed service providers as needed
Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures
Support onboarding and offboarding of employees, including system access and equipment setup
Assist with technology upgrades, system implementations, and process improvements
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
Experience supporting networks, printers, VPNs, and basic firewall concepts
Familiarity with hardware setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and data protection best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and customer-service mindset
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting ERP, CRM, or inventory management systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar)
Experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or distribution environments
IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
