Position Overview

Theodore, AL (On-site)

Genesis is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Specialist to support and maintain the company’s information technology systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable day-to-day IT operations, supporting end users, maintaining system security, and assisting with technology improvements that support sales, project management, compliance, and operations.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, service-oriented, and comfortable supporting both office and field-based users in a fast-paced industrial business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for employees, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across systems (email, ERP, CRM, file systems, VPNs)

  • Monitor and maintain network performance, backups, and system availability

  • Assist with cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, patching, and access controls

  • Support and maintain business systems such as ERP, CRM, inventory, and project management tools

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and managed service providers as needed

  • Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures

  • Support onboarding and offboarding of employees, including system access and equipment setup

  • Assist with technology upgrades, system implementations, and process improvements

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365

  • Experience supporting networks, printers, VPNs, and basic firewall concepts

  • Familiarity with hardware setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance

  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and data protection best practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-service mindset

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting ERP, CRM, or inventory management systems

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar)

  • Experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or distribution environments

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
