Position Overview:

We are a growing, multi-location equipment dealership and service company seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead our technology, infrastructure, and cybersecurity environment across all locations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping our systems, data, and networks secure, reliable, and aligned with business growth. You’ll play a critical role in protecting, stabilizing, and modernizing the technology that runs our business. This role offers real ownership, leadership, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

You will own and lead all aspects of IT, including:

Enterprise Systems & Data

• Support and optimize our ERP platform (EBS Next) running on a SQL Server backend
• Ensure data accuracy, system availability, and integration between systems
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Sales to support reporting and business processes

Infrastructure, Networking & Security

• Manage multi-site LAN/WAN, VPNs, and remote connectivity
• Administer and secure Fortinet firewalls and network infrastructure
• Lead cybersecurity efforts including endpoint security, monitoring, and incident response
• Oversee telecom, cellular, and 5G failover for business continuity

Microsoft & End-User Computing

• Own the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, Copilot)
• Ensure devices, identities, and data are secure and easy for users to work with

Leadership & Operations

• Lead and develop the IT team and help desk
• Set service levels, processes, and escalation paths
• Ensure fast, reliable support for all locations

Vendors, Budget & Projects

• Manage IT vendors, contracts, and budgets
• Lead technology projects such as upgrades, security improvements, and system enhancements

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in IT, infrastructure, or systems leadership
• 3+ years managing people or teams

Strong experience with:

• SQL-based ERP systems (EBS Next or similar)
• Fortinet networking and firewalls
• Multi-site network and remote office support
• Telecom and 5G failover architectures
• Cybersecurity best practices
• Microsoft 365 and endpoint management

Enhanced Consideration:

• Experience with EBS Next
• Vendor and contract management
• SQL reporting or database experience
• Project management or systems implementation experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional standing and walking to access files, office equipment, and interact with team members.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel required as needed (approximately 25%) across Western United States
