Program Objectives
The Director of Nursing in Training will be tasked with learning how to:
- Conduct the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Develop, implement and evaluate programs to measure, assess and improve care quality.
- Prepare for and participate in facility surveys.
- Recruit, train, retain and nurture staff, primarily nurses and nurse aides.
- Ensure a compliant staffing plan.
- Set goals, establish priorities and coordinate and manage the policies and resources needed to meet those goals.
- Manage budgets and implement expense controls.
- Oversee employee conduct.
- Maintain awareness of and respond to incidents at the facility.
- Communicate with the medical director, physicians, hospitals and vendors.
- Manage facility operations in the absence of the Administrator.
- Other tasks and training as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Current and unencumbered Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Two (2) or more years Long Term Care environment experience.
- Supervisory experience in Skilled Nursing/Long-Term Care
