Phoenix Swim Academy is a family-owned swim school specializing in personalized, one-on-one swim lessons for all ages and abilities—from infants as young as 6 weeks old, to children, teens, adults, and swimmers with special needs (including special needs adults). We pride ourselves on being well-rounded and inclusive, adapting our teaching to meet every swimmer’s unique needs in a patient, supportive, and confidence-building way.
Our Yorba Linda location features a private, heated outdoor pool maintained at a comfortable 90° with advanced UV filtration for crystal-clear, healthier water (gentler on skin and eyes with reduced chemicals), ensuring year-round lessons in a safe, enjoyable environment focused on water safety skills and lifelong comfort in the water.
We are hiring an experienced, well-rounded Swim Instructor for immediate start on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays! Start right away with these specific shifts, with additional hours (including potential Thursday) added soon as you complete training and settle in.
Important Note:
This is NOT a summer or seasonal job. Phoenix Swim Academy operates year-round with consistent lessons throughout the entire year. We are seeking candidates looking for ongoing, long-term work—not temporary or seasonal positions.

- Schedule:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM (immediate start)
- Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (immediate start)
- Pay: $23 per hour
- Start Date: Immediate for Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday once training is complete
- Training: Begins right away (Monday–Thursday preferred/available) using our proven, structured curriculum
- Employment Type: Part-time to full-time potential (weekday and additional day expansion available soon, including standby for Thursday)
Full Shift Commitment Required – No Exceptions
This position requires full availability for the entire listed shifts each day—no partial days, reduced hours, or split availability. If you cannot commit to working the complete blocks below, please DO NOT APPLY:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: full 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM (6-hour block)
- Saturdays: full 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8.5-hour block) Applications from candidates unable to work these full shifts will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized swim lessons following our curriculum, tailored to each swimmer’s age and ability
- Teach core techniques including roll to breathe / swim-float-swim (rolling from front swim to back float for breathing and rest, then resuming swim)
- Work confidently and independently with infants (6 weeks+), children, adults, and special needs swimmers (including special needs adults)
- Adapt lessons creatively and patiently to accommodate diverse needs and build trust
- Build positive, encouraging relationships with students and families
- Maintain a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Must be an experienced swim instructor with strong swimming skills and proven teaching experience across a wide range of ages and abilities — specifically including:
- Infants (6 weeks+)
- Children and teens
- Adults (beginner through advanced)
- Special needs swimmers of all ages, including special needs adults
- MUST ALREADY KNOW HOW TO TEACH roll to breathe / swim-float-swim — this is essential for our program
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Highly reliable, punctual, dependable, patient, and compassionate
- Current certifications or immediate willingness to recertify in:
- Lifeguard certification
- CPR
- First Aid
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AED
- WSI (Water Safety Instructor) or equivalent swim instructor certification
- Excellent communication skills and genuine enthusiasm for inclusive, adaptive teaching
- Pass background check and have reliable transportation
