Data Scientist

Location: Remote


Position Overview/Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP of Data Analytics, the Data Scientist is responsible for building and deploying data models into production, including but not limited to transformer models, deep neural networks, decision trees, hierarchical clustering, and LLMs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create models from scratch, including predictive transformer models and ensemble models that combine unsupervised and supervised models
  • Statistical expert, understanding complex statistical theories and how to apply them
  • Serve as a data science expert, helping to oversee and guide offshore resources
  • Bring new concepts to life, including development, impact analysis and production
  • Work with clinical, IT, vendors and leadership to forward data science initiatives
  • Support sales and client-facing activities by assisting with content preparation
  • Adjust priorities as required to accomplish departmental objectives
  • Experience creating models before with billions and trillions of records and created relational databases from scratch is highly preferred.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and prioritizing skills and can manage multiple duties with close attention to detail.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a data science role by pushing multiple models in production with an average accuracy of +80%
  • Familiarity with stored procedures, Databricks, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills, especially in SQL and Python.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize complex data processes.
  • Creative and collaborative mindset to solve problems and suggest solutions.
  • Knowledge of CPT, DRG, HCPCS, Diagnosis codes and modifier use/guidelines.
  • Deep understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
  • Familiarity with information security regulations and frameworks such as HITRUST
  • Knowledge of data protection laws, best practices, and methodologies.


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of working as a data scientist
  • 3+ years of working in healthcare data analytics
  • 3+ years of large data sets and analysis techniques required
  • 3+ years with programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) required
  • Experience and knowledge on how to combine multiple healthcare data sources together (e.g., CMS, FDA, Client Data)


Suggested Pay Range:

  • $120,000 - $160,000 commensurate with experience and education
