Job description

TENAX Technologies is looking to add a dynamic and skilled Sr. Software Engineer to support the current mission in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

We are seeking a Software Developer to support in the disciplines as listed, but not limited to, below:

  • Plans, coordinates and directs the administrative, program control and technical personnel activities involved in providing services to fulfill the contract requirements.
  • Develops and maintains working software that satisfies the customers needs.
  • Analyzes job tasks, organizational structure and user requirements to provide system-wide solutions.
  • Designs solutions based on customer needs, technical considerations and security requirements.
  • Creates and maintains software code and automation scripts
  • Defines, analyzes, validates and documents complex operating environments, states of technology and current processes.
  • Creates and maintains technical and user documentation
  • Maintains configuration management and version control within a government provided software repository using Git or other version control system.
  • Conducts code reviews and scans to identify potential flaws in code and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Performs risk analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities and likelihood and impact of exploitation
  • Automates and performs unit testing
  • Implements Security Technical Implementation Guides
  • Identifies, analyzes, implements and tests software patches.
  • Capture security controls used during the requirements phase to integrate security within the process, to identify key security objectives, and to maximize software security while minimizing disruption to plans and schedules.
  • Understands, follows and promotes the values and principles in the Agile Manifesto
  • Understands, follows and promotes continuous cyber security risk management
  • Analyze Government provided Software Change Requests (SCR) and assign a level of effort and categorization for each SCR. SCRs range from minor to major application changes. An example of a minor change is changing the color of a screen, whereas an example of a major change is updating the application server architecture. SCRs are often bundled together as part of a software release.
  • Research, develop, deliver, and present analysis of alternatives (AOA): Research includes, but is not limited to, current technology, best business practices, policy and standards, and technology/business trends. For complex SCRs, the Government may require the delivery of an AoA; but for simple SCRs or SCRs where only one possible solution exists, an AoA is unnecessary.
  • Perform software development, which refers to all work associated with performing modifications and updates required for sustainment of the application. Software change requests, policies, and dialogue take place between the SEC and OGC program leads and then are disseminated to the SEC FDM Contractor for analysis, level of effort, prioritization, categorization, planning and execution.
  • Deploying source code and database changes to DISA Production, as well as delivering to the Government software release packages as agreed upon in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Create, update, and deliver design documentation.
  • Maintain databases and deploy changes to production.
  • Create, update, deliver software release packages and version description documents for each software release.
  • Perform code reviews following industry best practices.
  • Employs best business practices and industry standard techniques for performing software testing.
  • Create, update, and deliver test plans and procedures.
  • Create, update, and deliver test scripts.
  • Execute integration testing, regression testing, smoke testing, ad-hoc testing, and unit testing for internal quality assurance testing as well as for customer user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure proper version control management using a government provided industry standard lifecycle management tool.
  • Secret clearance
  • IAT Level 2 includes baseline cyber certificate(s) and applicable platform certifications such as common operating environment training (Windows 2016/2019, Linux RedHat/CentOS)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
