Toddler/ Preschool Teacher Aid Job Description

You are responsible for caring for children in our center. You are to maintain a safe environment for the children to play and learn in. You are to tend to their daily needs. You are to use effective communication with children and their families, as well as your co-workers.

Toddler/Preschool Teachers aid responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

1. Reading and reviewing the staff handbook and childcare handbook

2. Help implement learning objectives that follow the center’s philosophy.

3. Include playing, art, learning, gross and fine motor skills in their daily plans.

4. Help implement activities that reinforce the weekly theme given by the director.

5. Work cooperatively with their teacher and other co-workers.

6. Attending all staff meetings and workshops/classes.

7. Meeting on occasion with the director for an evaluation, review objectives.

8. Being attentive to health, sanitation, nutrition and safety at all times.

9. Dressing and conducting one’s self in a professional manner.

10. Reporting accidents in accident reports.

11. Maintain a neat, orderly, clean classroom

12. Obtaining approval for any leave of absence.

13. Reporting any unusual behavior in a child.

14. Maintaining confidentiality of student records, and family matters.

15. Valuing and supporting each child and staff member without regard to race, religion, or national origin, sex, or disabilities.

16. Demonstrate respect, responsible, kind, well-mannered skills for the children to model.

17. Preparing children for snack and other meals.

18. Need to know and implement all of our emergency procedures.

Toddler/ Preschool Teacher Aid requirements :

At least 1 year of Daycare center experience

High School diploma / G.E.D.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour

Experience:

• Licensed Childcare: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• CPR and First Aid (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Holt, MI 48842 (Required)
