About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Support/Systems Engineer to join our team. This hands-on role combines frontline end-user support with systems engineering responsibilities in a production environment. The ideal candidate will provide timely, effective technical assistance to office staff while also working with our team to maintain and support our systems infrastructure. You will work directly with users in a professional office setting, troubleshooting issues and ensuring minimal downtime for both standard productivity tools and specialized vertical market software. You will also be part of a small team of systems/network engineers responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of our systems and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain the company’s end-user computing environment. Deliver end-user support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, serving as the primary point of contact for company employee computing needs.
· Troubleshoot and resolve problems with Windows operating systems (Windows 11 and Windows Server), M365 Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and other common productivity, as well as cross-integrated applications.
· Provide support for our installed base of industry-specific vertical market software and integration components.
· Install, configure, upgrade, and support workstations, laptops, peripherals (printers, scanners), and network-connected devices.
· Assist with buildout, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers in a live production environment, including patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and security hardening.
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and assist in ongoing vigilance of our security posture throughout our operating environment.
· Collaborate with users professionally and patiently, explaining technical concepts in non-technical terms and resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize business impact.
· Work as a team member on IT projects, hardware/software evaluations, and infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of combined experience in end-user support and systems administration.
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar/related field of study. Or similar Associate degree with at least two additional years of professional, hands-on experience.
· Hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting core line-of-business application services on Windows desktops and on servers (financial services applications preferred).
· Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and associated infrastructure tools (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, M365 admin center).
· Hands-on experience administering Windows servers in a production setting. Linux server experience is a plus.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting directly with non-technical business professional clients and providing courteous, efficient service.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, other), backup/recovery solutions, basic networking concepts, production server hardware and vm’s, as well as end-user and server administrative functions, tools, utilities, and scripting platforms.
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP, L2 & L3 switching, routing, STP, VLAN, QoS, VoIP, SMB, RDP, etc.
· Working knowledge of various systems services: DHCP, DNS, NTP, RDP, VoIP/HVoIP, etc.
· Hands-on experience with physical, on-premise enterprise servers, SANs, networks.
· Experience with VMWare hypervisor environment and server vm builds on the platform.
Desired Skills:
· Advanced proficiency with Windows Desktop OS and experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
· Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply independent judgment.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
