<Job Overview>
The IT Systems Administrator will lead and oversee the organization’s information security, compliance, cloud infrastructure, and systems administration functions within a regulated home health environment. This role is responsible for driving strategic improvements across our Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure/Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and core security setup. This role ensures that all technology systems supporting administrative operations meet HIPAA and HITECH security requirements while remaining reliable, scalable, and operationally efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure, Backup & Continuity (Azure / AVD)

  • Plan a phased path toward company-owned Azure/AVD (when leadership approves)
  • Maintain Azure and AVD infrastructure security.
  • Document the current Azure/AVD setup and ensure leadership has clear visibility
  • Own backup strategy and restore testing.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Security Governance & Compliance (HIPAA / PHI)

  • Lead the organization’s Information Security Program, including risk assessments and remediation.
  • Assist with HIPAA Security Rule compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintain incident response and breach notification procedures.
  • Oversee Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and PHI access audits.

Endpoint & Device Security

  • Define and maintain secure device baselines.
  • Oversee AV/EDR, patching, encryption, and MDM controls.

Cloud & Identity Security (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID)

  • Administer and secure Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Enforce MFA, conditional access, and least-privilege access.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Review audit logs and monitor suspicious activity.

Vendor & MSP Oversight

  • Serve as primary technical and security liaison.
  • Validate remediation efforts and track SLAs.
  • Coordinate with MSP, VoIP, and printing vendors when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure secure and compliant IT setup for new locations.

Policy Ownership, Training & Reporting

  • Manage IT/security policies and HIPAA security training.
  • Deliver security metrics and reporting to leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience

  • 5-7 years in IT security or systems administration.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Azure experience.
  • Strong Azure Virtual Desktop experience.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA safeguards.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare industry experience.
  • MSP/vendor management experience.
  • Compliance audit or incident response experience.

Certifications:

  • Required: Security+
  • Preferred: SC-300, AZ-104, CISSP or HCISPP, Network+

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
