Provide full time, on-site test and evaluation support to Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) applications/systems on a common, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) currently under development by the U.S. Marine Corps. Primary responsibilities include deployment of test network environments on virtual and physical environments; testing of Command and Control system interoperability; and network engineering. Must have the ability to resolve issues with program version mismatches and interoperability problems. A primary focus of the position is on functional testing of software builds.
Job Tasks:
- Collaborate within a Scrum Agile team to assess software capabilities and align with development goals.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and reliability of software systems.
- Actively monitor, document, and update defect and improvement reports, using tools like Jira, to ensure prompt resolution and continuous improvement.
- Generate thorough test reports, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Participate in software capability assessments, including functional, performance, and regression testing, to verify system requirements and standards compliance.
- Maintain and configure test environments, including hardware, networking, and software components, to support a variety of testing scenarios.
It is imperative that the applicant have a SECRET security clearance.
Required Qualifications:
- Active SECRET Clearance
- Experience working through software development methodologies including both Waterfall and Scrum Agile environments.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Extensive experience operating Marine Corps ground C2 systems such as JTCW, AFATDS, GCCS TCS.
- Proficiency in IP subnetting, routing, and network architecture, including creating logical data flow diagrams and hardware resource diagrams.
- Several years of experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server (2016–2019), and Linux distributions like Red Hat or Rocky Linux.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Basic experience with programming languages including Java, Python, or C++.
- Strong understanding of Marine Corps ground C2 communications and military symbology standards.
- Experience generating detailed test reports and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to network architecture design for test environments.
- Experience working in teams that integrate both functional and technical components in testing or development projects.
- Knowledge of Project Management tools with competency in managing tasks, stories, test artifacts, and documentation.
- System Administration experience installing, configuring, and maintaining environments involving Cisco networking devices, VMware ESXi and vCenter, Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC), and Windows Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
