Job description
Position Summary:
Provides executive administrative support to administrators and healthcare professionals in order to ensure the effective delivery of quality patient care. Coordinates support staff in order to ensure an efficient office environment and effective support of organizational goals. Provides departmental assistance with budget administration, human resource functions, and other managerial needs. Supervises office employees, serves as the hiring manager for administrative, and support staff.
Critical Tasks:
Provides guidance, support, and direction to staff and coordinates administrative and support services in order to ensure effective delivery of quality patient care. Supports executive administrators and healthcare professionals in order to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care and the execution of organizational goals. Assists with budgetary, human resource, and other managerial functions of the department in order to support an efficient organizational workflow. Maintains all relevant medical and staff records to ensure accurate information and accessibility. Ensures operational compliance with relevant tribal, state, and federal rules and regulations. Supervises administrative staff and serves as hiring manager for support staff. Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Protects patient privacy in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and GRHC’s Code of Ethics. Adheres to GRHC’s service standards and organizational values in interactions with GRHC patients, other customers, and fellow employees. Displays consistent kindness and professionalism towards all patients, relatives, co-workers, and external customers.

Performs all critical tasks on a timely and increasingly efficient basis. Exhibits behaviors continuously in the best interests of employee, patient, medical, and service needs. Adheres strictly to the principle of confidentiality. Complies with all GRHC policies, procedures, and directives. Communicates thoroughly and productively with other employees on all work-related subjects. Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness. Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or a closely related field of study, plus 1 year of experience providing administrative support to Director-level or higher position in a healthcare setting; or a combination of education and experience in a similar environment. 1+ years of experience providing administrative support to Director-level employee or higher in a healthcare setting. 1+ years of experience directly supervising support staff preferred. Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures. Employment at the Caring House requires: AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card within 60 days in position.
