Job Overview
The GSOC Operator plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities. This position involves monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in security operations, loss prevention, and conflict management, ensuring a secure environment for all personnel and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and operating Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), video systems, alarm receiving equipment and integrated access control systems.
- Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, assessing situations and determining appropriate actions.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services during incidents or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs of all activities, incidents, and communications within the GSOC.
- Conduct regular inspections of security equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and procedures.
- Participate in training programs related to conflict management, surveillance techniques, and loss prevention strategies.
- Alarm monitoring dispatching, dispositioning and archiving security and fire alarms; controlling and directing daily routine activities for security and fire personnel and affect command/control procedures for emergencies
- Operates both security and fire alarm monitoring systems, operating/monitoring communications equipment, logging shift activities, monitoring surveillance and intrusion monitors, alarms and camera systems, processing required reports and making appropriate notifications.
- Uses communication equipment to include, but not limited to, two-way radio communications, telephone systems, security phone, and computer equipment.
- Makes emergency response notifications and dispatches for all site emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- May include after-hours dispatching of facilities personnel and contractors responsible for communication/video technology.
- Maintains all logs, reviewing and writing reports for incidents and emergencies utilizing a Significant Events Log during assigned shift.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in law enforcement or security operations is preferred.
- Previous experience in a Security operation center is required
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and techniques.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, including CCTV operation.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- must be able to easily navigate a computer and be tech savy
