Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Preconstruction Manager to lead our project planning and bidding processes from inception through to project award. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate with design teams, clients, and subcontractors to develop accurate cost estimates, construct comprehensive project scopes, and ensure seamless transition into construction. Your expertise in construction estimating, project scheduling, and construction management software will drive the success of our preconstruction efforts, setting the foundation for safe, efficient, and profitable projects.

Duties

  • Lead the development of detailed construction estimates utilizing software such as RedTeam, Microsoft Project and Bluebeam to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to interpret schematics, blueprints, and contract documents for precise scope definition.
  • Prepare and review project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools to establish realistic timelines aligned with project goals.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors during bid solicitation to gather competitive pricing and scope clarification, while also ensuring adequate bid coverage.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather critical data for accurate estimating and planning.
  • Manage preconstruction documentation including contracts, scope of work, and bid packages to facilitate smooth project handoff.
  • Support project management teams during the transition from preconstruction to construction by providing detailed scope insights and scheduling information.
  • Attend networking events to promote Axiom Construction and leadership meetings for business development

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating, project scheduling, or preconstruction management within commercial or civil construction environments.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, RedTeam or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, contracts, and construction site conditions.
  • Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently through effective time management.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and heavy civil or infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction site safety practices and experience on active construction sites preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings including schematics and blueprints accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,708.74 - $85,380.41 per year
