Your Role

As the IT Specialist/Software Engineer, you’ll serve as the bridge between technology infrastructure and software innovation. You’ll manage and optimize our hardware, networks, and systems to ensure reliability and security, while also designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that improve efficiency. This hybrid role requires both hands-on technical troubleshooting and help desk capabilities and creative problem-solving through code, developing tools that align with organizational and client goals.

Key Responsibilities

IT Specialist

Asset Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware and software assets.
  • Manage the procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of IT equipment.

Vendor Management:

  • Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers for support, procurement, and new technologies.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met

IT Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Create user manuals and FAQs for common IT issues.

IT Projects:

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and managing IT-related projects (e.g., system upgrades, new software deployments, office moves).
  • Provide technical expertise and support for infrastructure improvements.

Budgeting & Planning (Assistance):

  • Assist in developing and managing the IT budget.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce IT policies related to acceptable use, data handling, and security

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify areas for IT improvement and recommend solutions.

Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom software functions, APIS, and applications.
  • Design HMI layouts for the customer’s ideal user experience.
  • Conduct testing and fix bugs to ensure code is optimal.
  • Use GitHub workflow.
  • Work with specific hardware that is required by the customer.
  • Use documentation for the hardware to write software drivers for that piece of hardware to work best with the application.
  • Develop communication protocols across software applications or between hardware components.
  • Integrate software interfaces with databases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience: 1+ years in IT support and software development • Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge.
  • Hands-on development skills in two or more application languages, such as: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, Objective-C, Dart, Swift or equivalent languages.
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong commitment to providing superior client satisfaction.
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Pay:Salary, Exempt. Starting salary is 70K annually.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
