As an Advantage Technology Junior Security Analyst, you will play a critical part in our incident response and threat detection efforts by managing and triaging all security alerts and tickets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Alert Triage: Act as the first point of contact for incoming security alerts, thoroughly reviewing and categorizing alerts based on severity and relevance.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct initial investigations into security incidents, assessing the nature and potential impact of each alert. Collaborate with senior analysts or incident response teams as needed.
- Ticket Management: Create and manage tickets for all security alerts, ensure accurate documentation, and tracking of incidents throughout their lifecycle.
- Prioritization: Prioritize alerts based on severity, potential impact, and threat relevance, ensuring the most critical incidents receive immediate attention.
- Resolution and Remediation: Collaborate with other security teams to provide recommendations for remediation and assist in implementing necessary actions to mitigate threats.
- Continuous Monitoring: Monitor security dashboards and logs to identify trends, anomalies, or emerging threats that may require further investigation.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all security incidents, actions taken, and resolution outcomes for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of incident reports, documenting the root cause, impact, and lessons learned from security incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Entry-level or limited experience in cybersecurity.
- Basic knowledge of security tools, systems, and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eager to learn and stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, etc.) are advantageous.
