DayaMed is a digital health company based in Reno, NV, focused on medication adherence. The DayaMed platform combines the resources of a clinical care organization with an advanced mobile application that allows patients and their families to access medications, communicate with healthcare providers, and monitor medication adherence.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer at DayaMed, you'll play a pivotal role in our dynamic startup environment, where versatility is key. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll collaborate closely with the Solutions Architect and our Engineering partner team. Your responsibilities will span across building and managing our infrastructure, leveraging your technical expertise to transform the Solutions Architect's vision into tangible reality. This role offers the unique opportunity to don multiple hats and contribute significantly to our company's growth.

What will you do?

  • Demonstrate expertise in scaling infrastructure to meet evolving business needs, ensuring optimal performance, and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain service-oriented architecture principles, fostering modularity, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
  • Translate technical infrastructure diagrams and architectural plans into functional and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Streamline and optimize development and deployment processes, leveraging the latest tools and methodologies.
  • Showcase advanced knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS, and hands-on experience with key PaaS features.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or equivalent.
  • Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions, ensuring efficient integration and deployment.
  • Establish and enforce security best practices for cloud-based infrastructure, covering ACLs, network security, firewalls, internet gateways, NAT gateways, and more.
  • Collaborative Solutioning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Implement incident management processes and tools, ensuring system reliability and responsiveness through proactive monitoring.
  • Optimize the cost of cloud infrastructure through effective resource management and utilization.
  • Apply Agile principles and best practices, including peer code review, pair programming, and iterative development.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, or other related engineering discipline
  • 7+ Years Hands-On Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles with a focus on scaling infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining service-oriented architecture principles.
  • Ability to transform technical infrastructure diagrams into functional infrastructure solutions.
  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud services and successful implementations.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines with tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Previous experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Agile Advocate: Knowledge of Agile principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
