Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Class A Instructor / DMV Liaison to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between our organization and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Your expertise in commercial driving regulations and vehicle compliance will be essential in ensuring that all operations meet state and federal requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of various truck types, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as the liaison between the company and the DMV to facilitate a students "behind-the-wheel" or "BTW" test.
• Ensure all commercial vehicles are compliant with state regulations, including inspections and necessary paperwork, prior to DMV test appointment.
• Provide guidance to drivers on manual transmission operations and safe driving practices for tractor-trailers.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions with the DMV and ensure timely submission of required documents.
• Assist in training drivers on compliance requirements related to commercial driving.
• Document and report findings after completion of the DMV BTW test to campus administrator immediately.

Qualifications

• Valid Unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. ***NO AUTO RESTRICTIONS ON LICENSE***
• Proven experience in truck driving with knowledge of various commercial vehicles.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing documentation and compliance records.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with DMV representatives and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Previous experience in a similar liaison role or within the transportation industry is preferred.

Hours:

• Expected schedule 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday – Friday
• Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Pay:

This is a non-exempt position. The pay range for the position is $20.00 - $25.00

All employees start at $20.00/hr for training purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Travel:

• Take students to DMV for their DMV exam and return to school
• DMV Locations: Modesto, Stockton, Sacramento
