COTSWORKS seeks a Jr. Software Developer to support our exciting and growing Mil/Aero market for in-house designed and manufactured optoelectronic products and solutions
The Jr. Software Developer is responsible for developing software applications that aid the Company in developing and producing products. This individual will participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design to release management. This position is necessary for the technical analysis of product reliability, quality, and performance issues by COTSWORKS customers. The person in this role will perform various tasks related to developing, debugging, and maintaining software applications used by the Company. The Jr. Software Developer will be expected to know and implement good software engineering principles such as source control, unit testing, and object-oriented programming methodology. The person in this role is innovative, self-motivated, and self-directed, with keen attention to detail, exceptional service orientation, and the ability to motivate others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. This job is a full-time, salaried position with a pay range of $68K to $85K (based on skills and experience). Due to classified work at our facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. citizenship (No Green card or Visa) to be considered for a position and work onsite at our Cleveland-area office.
COTSWORKS, INC. designs and manufactures rugged optical components and subsystems to operate in harsh environments. Products are utilized worldwide in commercial and military aerospace and tactical, oil and gas, and other industrial markets. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility produces over 100,000 mission-critical rugged optoelectronic and interconnect products yearly. The company maintains a quality program with ISO 9100:2015 + AS9100D Certification and ATEX Compliance.
Your tasks include the following:
· Integrates product specifications into working system components using an Agile methodology.
· Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents application workflows, and client and server software applications.
· Collaborates with the Development and cross-functional teams to anticipate, identify, and resolve software application issues.
· Integrates new test equipment into software applications.
· Provides the status of work and projects by communicating clearly and actively to stakeholders as needed.
· Expands existing programs by analyzing and implementing new features.
Qualification requirements include:
· Requires a BS in Computer Science or a related field.
· Experience in software development with C#, LabView, and VB in a .NET framework environment, as well as the ability to learn new languages and technologies.
· Proficient with SQL-based databases, including reading, writing, and analyzing information.
· Familiarity with web-based languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript) is beneficial.
· Experience working with package management systems (i.e., NuGet, Azure DevOps, Git, SVN, and Visual Studio).
· Experience communicating with embedded devices through a web-based or desktop application.
· Strong, fluent written and verbal communication in English.
· Proficient analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
· Proficient organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask, keep projects on schedule, and resolve issues.
· Conducts oneself with a high level of professionalism and personal integrity.
