Job description

We are seeking a qualified candidate to provide full-time direct support to the Lead System Engineer and Program Protection Lead for Advanced Radars, specifically the Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) and Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR) programs.

This position is in support of PEO IWS 2.0 Above Water Sensors and Lasers. The role involves participating in the Program Protection Working Group and acting as the Lead Cybersecurity/RMF Analyst responsible for the RMF Authorization and Assessment process for Navy radar information systems, both new and existing. Key duties include maintaining Authority to Operate compliance for all RMF packages.

The role demands both technical and programmatic expertise and effective communication with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) at various levels within the government and industry. The position offers a hybrid work environment, but regular attendance at the office in the Washington Navy Yard area is required, along with up to 5% travel. Travel requirements may increase as the AMDR and EASR programs advance through their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Cybersecurity RMF Analyst / Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), ensuring delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Lead the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to achieve and renew Authority to Operate (ATO) for platform information technology systems.
  • Develop and maintain the complete security Body of Evidence (BoE) while leading the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities in accordance with RMF processes (CNSSI-1253, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, etc.) for Advanced Radars information systems.
  • Create, complete, and maintain the System Security Plan (SSP), Security Controls, and plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms) within eMASS.
  • Support the implementation of cyber policies, development of artifacts, and updates to requirements.
  • Perform verification and validation of delivered systems; develop test plans and procedures.
  • Assist in assessing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans & Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Report risks and issues to the PEO IWS 2.0 designated Qualified Navy Validator and Functional Authorizing Official.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Hold a DOD SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 3 years of Navy experience in information assurance, engineering, or operational support, including experience with eMASS and DISA STIGs and STIG Viewer.
  • Practical experience in validating control implementations and test procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be an energetic, thoughtful, product-oriented, reliable, flexible, open-minded individual with a strong eagerness to learn and a demonstrated work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability in forward-thinking and proactive problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an acquisition program office environment, with familiarity in documentation, protocols, formats, and deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $130,000.00 per year
