Job description
As an Entry-Level/Junior Data Scientist, you will
- Leverage the very latest machine learning and AI technologies to
- analyze large, complex data sets,
- produce predictive models based on historical data and analysis,
- and develop effective visualizations to highlight key data findings and patterns
- Assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing data from various sources
- Develop and maintain data engineering solutions and visualizations, including dashboards
- Identify areas for and implement Robotic Process Automation
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to identify data-driven solutions for business problems
- Support senior data scientists in developing predictive models and algorithms
- Create and maintain data documentation and reports
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a STEM or STEM-related field
- 0-5 years of experience with the design, development, and testing of software tools
- Strong familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Strong familiarity with process automation
- Understanding of data collection, data analysis, and data visualization techniques
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a secret clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Strong programming and software development experience
- Experience applying AI/ML technologies
- Experience with Generative AI (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs))
- Experience with statistics and applied machine learning (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models)
- Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines
- Experience developing dashboards
- Experience with Agile software development methodology
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency or other DoD organizations
- Experience working with cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure
