Job description
Responsible for enterprise geospatial database support and geospatial data administration for DRIS programs, including service desk support for enterprise GIS databases and web mapping services, development of scripts and automation to improve geospatial workflows, security monitoring and mitigation across portal, AWS, and geospatial systems, and design and governance of spatial databases that integrate with tabular reporting systems supporting trust land programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides requirements support, direction, and service desk support to GIS coordinators, specialists, and support staff working on enterprise GIS databases or web mapping services. Develops scripts to increase efficiency of geospatial processes and to meet stakeholder needs. Monitors and mitigates security vulnerabilities across portal, AWS, and geospatial systems. Establishes spatial database design, business rules, and workflows that integrate with established tabular reporting business systems including TAAMS and land status. Manages and maintains enterprise servers, databases, and services, with emphasis on Microsoft operating systems, SQL Server, Access, and System Center Operations Manager. Administers geospatial data to established standards including NSDI and FGDC Circular A 16 and other required federal standards. Documents user guidance, technical procedures, and service levels for server architecture, geodatabases, enterprise GIS services, and related systems. Plans and performs operational administration of a secure central geospatial data repository and delivery service for management and distribution of trust land tract, ownership, boundary, valuation support, and base reference data to authorized stakeholders. Oversees data publication activities, including metadata creation and maintenance aligned with DOI and FGDC standards and coordinated to support privacy and open data requirements.
Required Knowledge and Technical Skills
Knowledge of enterprise GIS database and web mapping service support, geospatial scripting and process automation, geospatial security and vulnerability mitigation in portal and AWS contexts, spatial database design and workflow integration with business reporting systems, and enterprise server and database administration across Microsoft platforms and SQL Server environments. Familiarity with federal geospatial standards and metadata practices, including NSDI and FGDC standards and DOI aligned metadata requirements, plus strong technical documentation capability for procedures, service levels, and user guidance.
Coordination and Customer Interface
Work performed in direct coordination with DRIS leadership and in collaboration with government GIS specialists and other stakeholders, supporting project requests that span dashboard and application development, python programming, data analysis, enterprise information workflows, business analytics, requirements gathering, customer journey mapping, business process engineering, and data management activities supporting system lifecycle and development.

Pay: $40.00 - $46.00 per hour
