Production Designer
Also known as: Cross media production design whiz
Status: Entry level, full time
Salary: 60,000 to 75,000
Billable efficiency: 80 percent
Hybrid schedule
- Monday - Wednesday on site in Fort Collins, Colorado
- Thursday and Friday work from home
- Remote considered for the right candidate

We bridge the truth of science with the magic of design through our Brand Engineering process, blending art, science and intuition to convert tech talk into brand love. We focus on Climate Tech, Emerging Tech and Additive Manufacturing.
What you will do
- Design and iterate print and digital assets including datasheets, brochures, websites, social posts, display ads and tradeshow materials
- Carry projects from initiation through completion
- Support and help shape defined strategies
- Collaborate with Strategy, Creative Director, Account Managers, UX and Copy
- Deliver consistent, high quality work that delights clients
Your skills
- Strong portfolio showcasing innovative design and problem solving
- Proficiency in graphic design principles for print and digital
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong command of typography, color, composition and user experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, PowerPoint and Word
- Comfortable in a fast paced, small team environment
- Able to take direction and critique well
- Strong time and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Curious, positive and passionate
- Bonus: digital animation, illustration or infographics
Breakdown of responsibilities
Research and strategy (10 percent)
- Understand client positioning and marketing goals
- Participate in brainstorms
- Partner with team members to meet project objectives
- Present work to internal teams
- Stay current on technology and promote adoption
Brand and print design (40 percent) and digital design (30 percent)
- Interpret client needs, requirements and goals
- Review client materials and project parameters
- Push production design boundaries
- Create and maintain brand style guides, identity toolkits, UI toolkits and SOPs
- Build correct, accurate, organized working files
- Prepare final print ready and post ready files
- Ensure quality and accuracy of files released to vendors and clients
- Communicate obstacles and improvement opportunities
- Follow Toolbox file naming protocols
- Produce accurate, ethical and timely work
Client and project management (15 percent)
- Follow Toolbox and client project workflows
- Schedule and prioritize tasks to meet budgets and deadlines
- Provide updates regarding revisions, scope changes and schedule changes
- Help define project goals, scope, pricing and timing
Studio responsibilities and administration (5 percent)
- Participate in quarterly performance reviews and set personal goals
- Take part in Toolbox Talks
- Enter all hours daily in Workamajig
- Join weekly staff and project meetings
- Respond to communication promptly
- Support Toolbox culture, values and purpose
- Contribute to a proactive, efficient and team oriented environment
- Develop thought leadership content as needed
Education and training
- Two or more years of production graphic design experience preferred
- Willing to train the right entry level designer with hands on experience
- Degree in graphic design preferred
