Tsunami Express currently owns and operates 75+ express car wash locations across Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, and Wisconsin, with aggressive plans to expand to 100+ locations over the next three years. We are creating a high-performance network of car washes powered by people, automation, and smart technology.

We are seeking a Director of IT who will oversee all technology operations across our locations, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and optimized for business performance. This role will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, external MSP partners, and POS vendors, focusing on vendor management, strategic planning, and IT governance while supporting escalations and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor & Partner Management:

• Act as the primary point of contact for MSP and POS vendors.
• Monitor SLAs, review performance reports, and escalate issues as needed.
• Negotiate contracts and manage renewals.

Infrastructure & Systems Coordination:

• Oversee network connectivity, hardware lifecycle, and POS system integrations.
• Coordinate with MSP for deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

Project Management:

• Lead IT workstreams for projects such as new location openings, system migrations, and technology rollouts
• Develop project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication plans.

Strategic Planning:

• Assess emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
• Develop IT budgets and forecast future technology needs.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain IT asset inventory and vendor documentation.
• Provide regular IT performance and risk reports to leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of IT experience, including vendor management and project leadership.
• Familiarity with MSP-driven environments and POS systems (retail preferred).
• Strong understanding of networking, Windows environments, and cloud services.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with Intune, RMM tools, and remote management platforms.
• Familiarity with car wash or multi-location retail operations.
• Project management certification (PMP or similar) is a plus.
