Job description
Position Summary:
The System Administrator is responsible for server back up and security, along with performance tuning and capacity planning. System Administrators should possess an understanding of network and distributed computing concepts. This is accomplished by working with the Systems Management Team Lead to understand the scope of services to be provided and assessing the impact they will have on the technical infrastructure
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with most basic system administrator tools and process; for example, can boot/shutdown a machine, add and remove user accounts, use back up programs, and maintain system database files.
- Maintains the project servers.
- Maintains the file and print capacity
- Ensures that backups are performed as appropriate.
- Acts as a front-line interface to users.
- Accepts trouble reports and dispatch them to appropriate system administrators.
- Able to write scripts in a particular administrative language.
- Programming experience with any applicable language.
- Communicates accurate and useful status updates.
- Manages and reports time spent on all work activities.
- Follows quality standards.
- Able to work in a team environment
- Completes assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
Education:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience in system, network and enterprise backup systems administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Experience with cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with networking concepts like firewalls, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and routing.
- Experience working with ServiceNow and SMA Automation.
- Experience managing Cloud platforms
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Small, fast-paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with staff and customers via phone, in person, email, and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel may be required.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
