Role Summary
This role supports production Kubernetes platforms operating in secure, compliance-driven environments. The work is operational and sustainment-focused, not application feature development or greenfield cloud builds.
Engineers in this role own Kubernetes clusters used by mission teams. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations, upgrades, compliance activities, and reliability of existing systems.
This is not a DevOps “pipeline” role and not a software engineering position.
What You Will Be Doing
- Operate and sustain production Kubernetes clusters in secure environments
- Configure and maintain Kubernetes networking, RBAC, storage, and core services
- Deploy and manage workloads using Helm and Git-based workflows
- Perform compliance-driven sustainment (patching, upgrades, documentation, change records)
- Monitor system health using logging and observability tools
- Troubleshoot cluster-level issues impacting availability, performance, or security
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and audit artifacts
- Coordinate with mission stakeholders, security teams, and ISSOs
Required Skills (Non-Negotiable)
