Location: Northern Suburbs of Chicago (Wheeling, IL area)
Schedule: Full-Time, On-site (Mon–Fri with occasional Saturday/on-call support)
Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000 base salary + discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain secure and high-performing on-premises infrastructure systems to support a multi-site manufacturing and distribution environment.
- System Administration: Directly administer and maintain critical systems, including VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter) and all related Windows server roles (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies).
- Network & Security Oversight: Manage local and wide area networks, storage systems (SAN/NAS), firewall configurations, and implement robust cybersecurity protocols.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor system performance, proactively address issues to minimize downtime, and ensure the reliability of IT services in a 24/7 production setting.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support a small team of 2–3 IT helpdesk and support staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and problem-solving.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work with business leaders to align IT infrastructure with company-wide operational goals and participate in strategic planning for long-term IT investments and lifecycle management.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date documentation of all systems, network architecture, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with IT policies and data security regulations.
- On-Call Support: Provide occasional weekend and on-call support for critical infrastructure issues as needed.
- Experience: 5+ years in IT infrastructure, with a minimum of 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with on-premises server environments, VMware virtualization, and Active Directory.
- Hardware & Storage: In-depth knowledge of server hardware, storage systems (SAN/NAS), and firewalls.
- Troubleshooting: Exceptional troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus.
- Location: Must live within 25 miles of Wheeling, IL.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and automation tools.
- Understanding of DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
