DevOps/IT Engineer - ReferralMD

Description

Interested in working in Healthcare IT with an experienced product team working to improve referral network communications for physicians, nurses, patients, and insurance companies? This opportunity has it all! ReferralMD is recruiting a DevOps/IT Engineer to manage our cloud infrastructure and support our medical health records platform.

As a DevOps/IT Engineer on the ReferralMD team, you will manage and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable and robust services that support our customer workflows and EHR integrations.

We Are Looking For An Experienced Cloud Infrastructure Professional To Join The Team

DevOps/IT Engineers at ReferralMD are responsible for maintaining the backbone of our healthcare technology platform:

  • Exhibit excellent judgment in infrastructure decisions
  • Has relentlessly high standards (is never satisfied with the status quo)
  • Drive infrastructure and deployment best practices
  • Monitor, document, and optimize the systems you manage

Core Qualifications

(Please DO NOT APPLY if you do not have significant AWS and Elastic Beanstalk experience.)

  • 5+ years of professional DevOps/IT infrastructure experience
  • Strong expertise with AWS cloud services and architecture
  • Extensive experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk deployment and management
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, VPC, IAM, and Lambda
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Experience with automated deployment and delivery pipelines including Docker, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools
  • Strong understanding of Linux system administration
  • Deep understanding of networking, protocols, load balancing, and security best practices
  • Experience with database management, particularly MongoDB and relational databases
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, ELK stack, etc.)
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high availability architectures
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA) is a plus
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems and integrations preferred
  • Knowledge of Mirth Connect deployment and management is a strong plus
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related Engineering fields preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills for infrastructure issues
  • Can effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and DevOps methodologies
