Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Operations Engineering team - a highly versatile and dynamic team that is setting us up for growth. You'll play a crucial role in scaling our healthcare revenue cycle management platform, maintaining our HIPAA-compliant infrastructure, and supporting the critical systems that process millions of healthcare transactions for our 4,000+ clients.

As part of our Operations Engineering team, you'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where versatility and adaptability are key. This position requires expertise in healthcare data security, compliance frameworks, and enterprise-grade reliability as we continue our expansion in the healthcare technology market.

Key Responsibilities

Healthcare Infrastructure Management

  • Maintain and continuously improve our HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure supporting high-volume healthcare transaction processing
  • Manage and continuously improve secure, scalable environments for EDI processing, clearinghouse operations, and patient payment systems
  • Ensure 99.9%+ uptime for mission-critical revenue cycle applications
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for healthcare operations

Growth-Focused Operations

  • Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and compliance standards
  • Implement automated scaling solutions for peak processing periods
  • Support new product launches and market expansion initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on growth-enabling technology initiatives

Security & Compliance

  • Implement zero-trust security models and multi-factor authentication systems
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and client security requirements

CI/CD & Application Deployment

  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for healthcare SaaS applications
  • Automate deployment processes while maintaining strict change control procedures
  • Implement automated testing and quality gates for healthcare transaction processing
  • Manage database deployments and healthcare data migration processes
  • Support rapid deployment cycles to accelerate product development and client delivery

Monitoring & Performance

  • Work with Quality & Production teams to monitor system performance for high-volume healthcare transaction processing (claims, remits, payments)
  • Implement 24/7 monitoring of critical healthcare systems with minimal downtime tolerance
  • Optimize performance for EDI and Output Solutions processing, clearinghouse operations, and real-time reporting
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to support business growth

Enterprise Integration

  • Support integrations with major healthcare payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers)
  • Manage API gateways and secure data exchange protocols
  • Maintain connections with practice management systems, EHRs, and billing software
  • Support client onboarding and integration processes at scale

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure with healthcare or financial services experience preferred
  • Scripting and Code Development: Python, or similar for automation and monitoring. Proven experience with maintaining and extending complex Java code
  • Growth-minded approach: Experience scaling infrastructure to support business expansion
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA compliance, healthcare data security, and BAA requirements
  • Cloud Platforms: Advanced experience with AWS, preferably with healthcare compliance configurations
  • Security: Strong background in enterprise security, encryption, and access controls
  • Database Management: Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar enterprise databases
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform
  • High Availability: Experience designing and maintaining 99.9%+ uptime systems
  • Versatility: Comfortable working across multiple technologies and adapting to new challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare technology or revenue cycle management experience
  • Experience scaling infrastructure for high-growth SaaS companies
  • Experience with EDI processing, HL7, or healthcare data standards
  • SOC 2 Type II or HITRUST compliance experience
  • AWS certifications (preferred cloud platform)
  • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Background in payment processing or financial transaction systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare clearinghouse operations
  • Track record of supporting rapid business growth through infrastructure improvements
