Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Technical Lead for a C2C engagement to oversee and enhance our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in cloud computing, automation, and enterprise software systems, providing technical leadership across development and operations teams. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong skills in system administration, scripting, containerization, and security to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing DevOps projects from start to finish, making sure they align with company goals
  • Building and managing CI/CD pipelines, including handling deployments, managing failures, and improving performance
  • Developing, packaging, and deploying Docker containers in both development and production environments
  • Leading teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and deploy reliable solutions to cloud platforms
  • Writing code using scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash, Terraform, and object-oriented programming languages
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and system diagrams
  • Deploying microservices applications to production cloud infrastructure, particularly using Kubernetes
  • Setting up and maintaining security controls that meet NIST and FedRAMP standards
  • Running agile meetings like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Managing basic project tasks including scheduling, assigning resources, and identifying risks

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Required Experience:

  • At least 6 years as a DevOps Engineer or Technical Lead working on large enterprise projects
  • At least 4 years leading teams to build CI/CD pipelines and deploy solutions to cloud platforms
  • At least 6 years working with Docker containers, including 3 years in a leadership role
  • At least 6 years building and managing CI/CD pipelines, including 3 years as a technical lead
  • At least 6 years of coding experience, including 3 years with scripting languages, 2 years with Terraform, and 1 year with object-oriented programming
  • At least 6 years writing and maintaining technical documentation and diagrams
  • At least 4 years deploying microservices to production cloud systems, including 3 years with Kubernetes
  • At least 2 years working with security controls in NIST and FedRAMP environments
  • At least 4 years leading DevOps projects from beginning to end
  • At least 4 years running agile ceremonies and meetings
  • At least 4 years doing basic project management tasks
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Experience:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, IT, or Engineering
  • 8 years as a DevOps Engineer or Technical Lead
  • 8 years leading CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • 8 years with Docker containers and leadership experience
  • 8 years managing CI/CD pipelines with advanced deployment techniques
  • 8 years of coding with extended experience in scripting, Terraform, and programming languages
  • 8 years creating technical documentation
  • 8 years deploying microservices and Kubernetes expertise
  • 4 years with security automation in compliance environments
  • 6 years leading DevOps projects and running agile ceremonies
  • 3 years building cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS
  • 2 years managing GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • 3 years implementing GitOps pipelines with Helm and ArgoCD
  • 2 years working with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
  • 2 years managing serverless systems in AWS
  • 3 years working with cloud security tools like Cognito, Azure AD, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sacramento, CA
