Job Overview

We are seeking a System Administrator to support and maintain technology systems used by our Gas Distribution Operations (GDO) and Electric Distribution Operations (EDO) teams. This on-site role plays a critical part in managing and improving the IT systems that power essential utility services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or SCADA, and be comfortable supporting both business users and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the business lead or representative on capital projects, including requirement gathering, RFP development, vendor evaluations, system testing, and user training.
• Assist with the maintenance, repair, and upgrades of GDO and EDO technology systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements for new software and IT system enhancements.
• Provide subject matter expertise on technology projects supporting utility distribution operations.
• Support system evaluations, hardware/software selection, and ensure solutions meet functional and business objectives.
• Coordinate and facilitate user group meetings, training sessions, and support activities.
• Act as a liaison between IT and field operations to resolve technical issues effectively.
• Provide backup support to Distribution Operations personnel and participate in storm response roles as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, or Information Technology required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of work experience in Gas and/or Electric Distribution Operations (GDO/EDO).
• At least 2 years of experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or SCADA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Additional Details

• This is a 100% on-site role based in Simpsonville, KY.
• Candidates must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
