Lead IT Cloud Engineer (Microsoft Platform)
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area – Hybrid (primarily remote, occasional onsite)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust

Salary $140,000
Summary
The Lead IT Cloud Engineer provides technical leadership in the planning, design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure. The role ensures reliability, scalability, security, and compliance of hybrid and cloud-based environments supporting mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, AKS, VNets, App Services, Storage).
- Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines; automate deployments with Terraform, Bicep, and PowerShell.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost across enterprise Azure environments.
- Integrate cloud solutions with DevOps practices and federal security requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, security architects, and business stakeholders to align solutions with mission needs.
- Author and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in IT with 5+ years focused on cloud engineering.
- 3+ years of direct Microsoft Azure deployment, administration, and solution design experience.
- 2+ years of DevOps/automation (Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, and hybrid integration.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (AKS, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python).
- Understanding of NIST cybersecurity standards and FedRAMP/Zero Trust principles.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Exper
