About the Role

We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer with strong experience in GitHub to join our team and support our customer. This is a hybrid role: primarily remote, with the flexibility to collaborate onsite at our New York City office two days a week.

You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure, driving automation and best practices across development and deployment lifecycles. You will also bring a design mindset to help architect CI/CD pipelines and implement automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD & GitHub Management:
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar).
  • Manage GitHub repositories, workflows, secrets, and security controls.
  • Automate code quality checks, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Infrastructure & Deployment:
  • Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform, Azure Bicep, or similar).
  • Support deployments across cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance and costs.
  • System Design & Architecture:
  • Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to high-level architecture decisions, ensuring strong observability, logging, and security.
  • Collaboration & Enablement:
  • Partner closely with development teams to embed DevOps best practices.
  • Write clear documentation for pipelines, environments, and operational processes.
  • Observability & Reliability:
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems (Azure Monitor, App Insights, or equivalent).
  • Drive proactive improvements to ensure uptime and rapid incident resolution.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, or platform engineering roles.
  • Expertise in GitHub ecosystem, including Actions, branch protections, and secrets management.
  • Solid experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation).
  • Strong understanding of system design principles, microservices architecture, and building secure, resilient systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure strongly preferred; AWS or GCP also valuable).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus).
  • Good grasp of monitoring/observability tools and proactive reliability practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to AI/ML workloads or integrating Copilot-type tools into pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Service Bus, Event Grid, or Logic Apps.
  • Exposure in designing CI/CD pipelines for finance-focused technology platforms, applications and systems.
