We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Senior DevOps Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and enhancing ScriptSure, ensuring it continues to set the standard for E-Prescribing excellence.

Senior DevOps Engineer — AWS | Terraform

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS, Terraform, MySQL Aurora, and Datadog. In this role, you’ll architect and optimize cloud-native infrastructures, focusing heavily on database performance, monitoring, cost efficiency, and automation. You’ll be instrumental in driving best practices for scalability, reliability, and security across our cloud ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform with a focus on

scalability, resilience, and security.

  • Optimize MySQL Aurora databases — from schema design to advanced query tuning and performance troubleshooting.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and alerting using Datadog, ensuring system health, database efficiency, and rapid incident response.
  • Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, integrating infrastructure, application deployments, and database migrations.
  • Lead SQL performance audits, indexing strategies, and query optimization initiatives to ensure peak database performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed infrastructure and database best practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor AWS billing and implement cost-optimization strategies across compute,

storage, and database services.

  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and database issues in production environments.
  • Stay ahead of evolving cloud technologies, advocating for continuous improvement and modernization

What You Bring:

  • 7+ years of DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience with a strong emphasis on AWS

environments.

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in AWS services, especially RDS/Aurora (MySQL), EC2, S3,

Lambda, IAM, VPC, ECS, and CloudFormation.

  • Proven Terraform mastery for building and managing production-grade infrastructure.
  • Advanced experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and managing large-scale Aurora MySQL clusters.
  • Strong proficiency with Datadog for infrastructure and database monitoring, alerting, anddashboards.
  • Expertise in automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and high-availability architectures.
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) required; additional Terraform and MySQL certifications are a strong plus.
  • Experience with cost management and rightsizing resources in AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (7+ years)
  • Strong grasp of software architecture principles and design methodologies.
  • Expertise in React and its core technologies: TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Expertise in backend development leveraging Node.js, Express, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
  • Fluent with version control systems, particularly GitLab, for code management and collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to self-manage priorities and tasks in a remote working environment.

Differentiators (but not required):

  • Experience in Healthcare EMR and ERX industry and applications.
  • Experience in building, managing, and handling data with PHI (HIPAA Compliance).
  • Expertise in software security and data protection methodologies.
  • Expertise in data modeling, storage, and scalability using SQL (mySQL/Aurora).
  • Expertise leveraging AI/ML technologies for advanced text search, natural language processing, and data retrieval.
  • Experience writing unit-tests with Jest.
