Who We Are

CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC.

CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees.

Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines: credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services.

Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for managing a large service and storage infrastructure. The responsibilities include provisioning, installation/configuration, monitoring, upgrading and maintenance of system hardware and software. Ensure highest levels of system and infrastructure availability. Provide tier 2 tier 3 escalation. In addition, this role will include functions involving data center management. Provide guidance and assistance to junior members of the team. This position requires sharing on-call responsibilities and some planned off-hour work.

Essential Functions:

  • Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis
  • Upgrades administrative tools and utilities and Configures and adds new services as necessary Maintains and administer the company Active Directory infrastructure, including users, computers, security/distribution groups, organizational units, and group policy objects
  • Administers the company Single-Sign-On (SSO) solution and configures new applications and maintain existing applications to take full advantage of SSO
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID
  • Provides project management for system upgrades and rollouts where applicable
  • Analyzes hardware and software system performance, review monitoring tools, and perform routine maintenance as necessary
  • Escalates to management any issues of significant or immediate concern
  • Installs new or rebuilds existing servers in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements, including the configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
  • Adheres to defined change control procedures and be able to work in a fully audited financial services environment using accepted best practices
  • Researches and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks that leverage finite resources
  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems and software systems adhere to company policies Develops and maintains installation, configuration and hardening procedures
  • Assists in the administration of the Exchange email environment
  • Assists in the administration of the VMware and Hyper-V virtual server environments
  • Provides helpdesk support as required by operational needs

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent combined education and experience required
  • Five (5) +years’ experience working with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems Microsoft certification a plus
  • Cloud certification a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of industry compliance standards such as Payment Card Industry (PCI) preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux is preferred PowerShell scripting experience is preferred
  • Cloud knowledge AWS, Google, Azure preferred

The salary range for this position, if located in NY Metro/NY State is $80,202 to $89,113. However, please note that the salary range will vary for other geographic areas.
