Job description

Alare Technologies is a cutting-edge sUAS (small unmanned aerial systems) engineering firm developing next-generation autonomous aerial platforms for defense and aerospace applications. We're seeking a Software & Visual Autonomy Engineer with a strong background in aerospace-grade vision systems and embedded software development.

You’ll leverage our existing vision pipelines and elevate them with advanced algorithms for autonomous target detection, recognition, and visual tracking. Your work will directly support flight-critical systems operating on embedded Linux platforms in real-world aerospace environments.

  • Architect and maintain robust robotics vision pipelines
  • Develop and train machine learning models for onboard visual autonomy
  • Build high-performance C++ applications for embedded flight systems

Required Expertise:

We’re looking for an engineer who thrives in high-reliability, real-time environments and understands the demands of aerospace-grade autonomy.

  • C++ (real-time, embedded systems)
  • Python (ML workflows)
  • GStreamer & DeepStream (video pipelines)
  • TensorRT & CUDA (GPU acceleration)
  • Nvidia Jetson or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with aerospace software standards is a plus

Ideal Background

  • Experience with autonomous systems in aerospace, defense, or robotics
  • Familiarity with flight software, sensor fusion, or onboard AI
  • Comfortable working in a lean, agile startup environment

Pay: $72,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
