Job description

Andersen is hiring a Software Architect in the USA for an international insurance company. The role focuses on integrating the insurance platform to streamline processes, unify data, and enhance efficiency.

The customer is an international insurance company offering a broad range of products across multiple countries. It aims to be a trusted specialist insurer, recognized for strong governance, transparency, and accountability. The project focuses on integrating the insurance platform into the client’s existing ecosystem. The goal is to streamline business processes, unify data management, and enhance operational efficiency through seamless system integration. This initiative aims to improve automation, ensure data consistency, and strengthen the overall digital infrastructure of the insurance business.

Responsibilities:
-Defining and maintaining the overall technical vision and system architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
-Leading the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across multiple systems and platforms.
- Collaborating closely with development teams, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical designs.
- Providing hands-on guidance to developers, promoting best practices in architecture, coding, and DevOps processes.
- Evaluating and recommending new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
- Conducting architecture and design reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and architectural principles.
- Communicating technical strategies, risks, and implementation roadmaps to senior management and other delivery teams.
- Supporting system integration activities, ensuring consistency of data flows and interoperability between applications.
- Defining and documenting architectural blueprints, data models, and system interfaces in accordance with organizational standards.
- Overseeing the development lifecycle to ensure the correct implementation of architectural decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with design, security, performance, and scalability standards.
- Working with developers and DevOps engineers to optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment architecture.
- Conducting impact assessments for new initiatives and providing effort and risk estimates for proposed solutions.
- Supporting troubleshooting and performance optimization of production systems.
- Promoting continuous improvement by introducing architectural enhancements and automation opportunities.
- Acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding of objectives and constraints.

Must-haves:
- Experience as a Software Architect for 4+ years.
- Strong background in software architecture and enterprise system design, preferably within the insurance or financial services domain.
- Proven expertise in Java Enterprise Edition, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with application servers (WildFly, Tomcat, JBoss) and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
- Excellent understanding of security principles, performance optimization, and scalability design.
- Skilled in Agile methodologies, with experience guiding teams through iterative delivery.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills to align cross-functional teams.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with practical implementation details.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
