The Opportunity
ProviderTrust has spent 15 years becoming healthcare’s most trusted source for compliance monitoring and provider data verification. We’ve built deep primary-source relationships, earned HITRUST r2 certification, and serve the nation’s leading health systems and payers.

Now, we’re scaling from proven products into a comprehensive platform — and we need a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to architect and lead that transformation.

This is a complete technology leadership role. You’ll own software, platform, and data engineering, architecture, and security, partnering closely with Product to shape the roadmap and accelerate growth. You’ll modernize our foundation, scale what’s working today, and build for what’s next.

What Youll Own
As CTO, you have end-to-end accountability for ProviderTrust’s technology organization:
● Software & Platform Engineering: Application development, SDLC oversight, QA excellence, API architecture, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps frameworks.
● Data Engineering: Real-time pipelines, data quality at scale, and dual data models serving both transactional and streaming needs.
● Architecture: Technical strategy, API-forward design, system interoperability, and scalable platform performance.
● Security & Compliance: Information security, HITRUST/SOC 2/HIPAA, threat modeling, and resilience planning.

The Transformation
You’ll lead ProviderTrust through parallel evolutions:
● Modernization: Consolidate legacy systems into a unified, API-first platform while maintaining zero downtime for customers.
● Platform Development: Build real-time data products with sub-500 ms response times that integrate seamlessly into healthcare systems (HRIS, EMR, credentialing).
● Data Architecture: Evolve dual data models for verification and real-time eligibility, enabling scale to 50 M+ monitored records with 99.9%+ accuracy.
● AI/ML: Deploy machine learning for automation, predictive compliance, and intelligent onboarding — moving models from concept to production.

Qualifications
Required
● Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
● 15+ years of progressive technology leadership in enterprise or SaaS environments.
● Proven expertise in large-scale software architecture, API-first design, SDLC oversight, data platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and security frameworks.
● Experience building or leading AI/ML-enabled products or data systems.

Preferred

● Experience in healthcare technology, data intelligence, or regulatory compliance.
● Prior leadership of teams managing HITRUST-certified and SOC 2-compliant systems.

● Partner deeply with Product to ensure alignment between product strategy, roadmap execution, and technical feasibility.
● Drive innovation while maintaining reliability, predictability, and security in a regulated environment.
● Champion an API-forward architectural strategy that reduces integration friction and enables interoperable, scalable data systems.

Scalable Platforms & Data Intelligence
● Lead evolution of the core data and platform architecture for scalability, performance, and quality.
● Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring excellence in planning, development, QA testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
● Integrate advanced analytics, automation, and AI/ML capabilities into products and operations.
