Job Summary:
The IT Server Administrator II will be responsible for monitoring on premise and cloud-based server environments. The positions will also be responsible for maintaining a healthy and secure Active Directory environment, including connecting workstations to the company network and monitoring the network for any potential issues.

Job Summary:
The IT Server Administrator II will be responsible for monitoring on premise and cloud-based server environments. The positions will also be responsible for maintaining a healthy and secure Active Directory environment, including connecting workstations to the company network and monitoring the network for any potential issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain and support both physical and virtual servers.
- Validates corporate backups are executed weekly and assures they are restorable. Troubleshoot issues as necessary.
- Develop and implement server maintenance standards and operating procedures.
- Manage, maintain, diagnose, and repair hardware and software within the server environments.
- Maintaining a healthy and secure Active Directory environment.
- Responsible for updating documentation of the server environment, policies and standards
- Implement approved corporate security policies and procedures, escalate issues and/or compromises to management.
- Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with greenfield setup, configuration and support of the latest two Microsoft Windows server and LINUX operating systems.
- Ability to create scripts (VBScript, PowerShell, Perl, PHP and/or Python)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN and WAN to troubleshoot and address server issues.
- Knowledge of firewalls, proxy and databases.
- Experience with tape, snapshot and cloud backup solutions.
- Act as a technical resource and participant in system and network projects.
- Experience with managing a corporate backup solution.
- Experience with capacity planning and performance monitoring techniques and tools.
- Working knowledge of network performance monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds or Nagios.
- Familiar with LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) concepts and configurations such as routing, VPN (Virtual Private Network) and cabling.
- Good oral and written communicator.
- Experience working with different cross functional teams.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
