System Administrator – Financial IT

We are a leading financial institution with an immediate opening for a System Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments.

In this role, you’ll work hands-on with firewalls, VMware, Cisco networking, and security tools, while gaining valuable experience in cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. You’ll monitor system health, respond to incidents, and collaborate with senior team members to enhance reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and maintain next-generation firewalls and security policies
• Support VMware virtual environments, including provisioning and routine maintenance
• Administer Cisco switches and routers, focusing on port configuration and troubleshooting
• Manage system health and log monitoring dashboards (e.g., Splunk)
• Provide support for cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS)
• Assist with system changes and documentation to meet PCI-DSS compliance standards
• Monitor performance, respond to service disruptions, and resolve incidents
• Participate in patching, updates, backups, and inventory management
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation and procedures
• Collaborate with senior team members to improve reliability and security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in system or network administration
• Practical knowledge of firewalls, virtualization platforms, and enterprise networking
• Familiarity with log monitoring tools (Splunk or similar)
• Exposure to cloud services (Azure, AWS) and interest in cloud operations
• Understanding of security frameworks such as PCI-DSS
• Strong troubleshooting skills and adherence to established processes
• Effective communication and organizational abilities

Preferred Certifications (a plus)

• CompTIA Network+ or Security+
• Firewall certifications (PCCSA, PCNSA)
• VMware (VCTA, VCP)
• Cisco CCNA
• Cloud fundamentals (Azure, AWS)
