Job description
N2IA is seeking a Solutions Architect – Sr. to leverage their expertise to support a DoD client's cloud transformation efforts (large scale migrations, financial operations, and modernization efforts). As a Solutions Architect – Sr. you will leverage your systems engineering and cloud operations expertise to review existing applications and architecture, develop sunsetting recommendations for existing infrastructure, create transition plans for applications and workloads to the cloud, and provide recommendations for a To-Be solution tech stack. A major focus will be rearchitecting existing systems for cost saving measures. You will work alongside your team and key stakeholders to understand and optimize cloud usage and cost, as well as quantify business value.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers regularly to identify problems, gather requirements, and deliver solutions.
- Identify solutions based on business and technical criteria, analyzes alternatives based on trade space, and implements designs.
- Research current and emerging technologies and process methodologies and proposing changes and tailoring where needed.
- Assess the system and business process architectures currently in place and works with staff to recommend improvements.
- Assess existing applications and develop a cloud migration roadmap.
- Identify customer requirements, analyze alternatives and conduct product recommendations related to software, platform and network configurations.
- Provide updates to stakeholders on project cost, schedule, and quality in comparison to stakeholder objectives.
- Deploy tools that will monitor cloud environment, identifying opportunities for cost optimizations.
- Understand technical aspects of cloud services and cost models - support development of cloud cost estimates.
- Analyze cost and technical trade-offs - ensuring value of cloud spend.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 4+ years of experience of experience as a Cloud Architect (AWS)
- 10+ years of experience in a related field (networking, development, cloud development, security)
- 5+ years of system engineering/design experience
- Proven ability to lead development of technical data packages such as a system description, Interface Control Document (ICD), CONOPS, related appendices and detail artifacts such as an API (Application Programming Interface) SDD (System Description Documents), OV-1s, and systems and enterprise architecture packages.
- Experience managing the system engineering lifecycle, analysis of alternatives, proofs of concepts, and operational pilots
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (active) or Above Certification required
- Will also accept:
- AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate
- AWS Developer - Associate
- AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
- Comptia Security+ Certification (active) required
- FinOps Certification (Desired)
- Experience transitioning legacy applications and workloads to cloud environments (AWS)
- Experience identifying issues in existing AWS environments and optimizing against them
- Experience in Financial Operations in AWS environments
- Experience using DevSecOps tools, such as Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Git and automation tools (e.g. GitHub)
- Experience as a managed service provider or AWS environment Admin (preferred)

- Preference given to DMV candidates who can commute to Quantico 1 day/week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
