POSITION PURPOSE:
The System Administrator is responsible for supporting on premise as well as cloud-based Microsoft computing environments. This resource will also assist with software/systems deployments and special projects, all of which must be executed within a framework of risk mitigation and compliance. Finally, a collaborative approach and integration into existing IT environment/team is key to a successful candidate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Administration

Manage Microsoft servers across VMWare, physical, and Azure/AWS platforms

Administration of Office 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online

Basic SQL server administration

Provide direction/support to optimize infrastructure & applications ecosystem

Help support LAN/WAN environment, including wireless and Always-On VPN

Integrate with business to provide IT support for special projects (i.e., business acquisition/divestiture, systems deployments, etc.)
Team
-
Tier III escalation for complex issues

Provide backup support for overlapping responsibilities with Network admin + Security Admin resources

Participate in collaborative, team-based approach to provide effective IT services delivery
Governance

Support disaster recovery/business continuity programs

Ensure system configurations are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and any regulatory or compliance requirements
Education /Certification:
-
High school diploma required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Microsoft Certifications preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
-
3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022 administration required

2+ years’ experience with VMware/virtualization solutions + SAN/NAS required

Active Directory, Windows client/server platforms experience required

PowerShell, SSO, antivirus, web filtering, encryption, and core security software experience required

Office 365, Intune, and Entra ID administration experience preferred

SQL server & SCCM/Endpoint Configuration Manager experience preferred
Must possess current, valid driver’s license.
Travel required up to 10%.
