Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator/Operations professional. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, system administration, and IT infrastructure, with a focus on optimizing performance and reliability.

Virtualization & Server Operations

  • Routine maintenance of VMs and physical servers, including applying patches, firmware, and OS updates.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter (VM creation, resource allocation, snapshots, performance monitoring).
  • Hardware lifecycle management (replacements, warranty tracking).

Active Directory & Core Infrastructure

  • Manage Active Directory infrastructure.
  • DNS and DHCP administration
  • User and group lifecycle management (onboarding/offboarding, group memberships, OU structure).
  • Familiarity with hybrid AD + Entra ID environments is a plus.

Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Assign, remove, and track user licenses.
  • Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, including creating and managing shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail-enabled security groups.
  • Configure transport rules, mailbox delegates, forwarding, and retention policies.
  • Basic team/site creation and permissions management for Teams and SharePoint
  • Enforce MFA, conditional access policies, review sign-in logs and alerts.
  • Must be familiar with the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange Admin Center, and Entra portal

Backup & Recovery

  • Monitor backup jobs, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Perform and test routine restores of files, VMs, and system states.
  • Experience with Acronis backup software and storage systems.
  • Understanding of retention policies and disaster recovery testing.

Storage & File System Management

  • Manage NTFS permissions, including day-to-day access requests and troubleshooting.
  • Understand storage technologies (eg: SAN, NAS, iSCSI) and performance considerations.

Networking Basics

  • Manage network services at the server/VM level (eg, NIC configuration, VLAN tagging).
  • Have a working knowledge of firewall rules, VPN access, overlay networks, and switch configuration (basic troubleshooting, not deep engineering).
  • Ability to collaborate with network engineers for escalations.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor servers, storage, and services using tools like PRTG, Zabbix, etc.
  • Maintain system documentation and change logs.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and follow patch management policies.
  • Maintain least-privilege principles in AD and NTFS.
  • Assist with audit requests and compliance checks.
  • Familiarity with MFA, conditional access, and endpoint security.

IT Ops Support

  • Troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • End-user hardware setup/configuration
  • Managing IP phone system
  • Managing IT assets and inventory

General Skills

  • Strong documentation habits (procedures, diagrams, ticket updates).
  • Experience working in ticketing/helpdesk systems for tracking issues and requests.
  • Effective communication with both technical staff and end-users.
