Senior Enterprise Architect-Network
Contract-to-Hire | Hybrid (Onsite Tues, Wed, Thurs)
Location: [Gary, Indiana] Candidates can also be located in Columbus, Ohio or Canonsburg, PA

Overview

Hive + Co has a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Gary, IN for a Senior Network Enterprise Architect to provide leadership and strategic direction across multiple technology domains.We are supporting a large-scale digital transformation that’s modernizing enterprise systems and moving core platforms to the cloud. Four Senior Enterprise Architects are needed to help shape the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap across multiple domains—ensuring modern, scalable, and business-aligned architecture for the future.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in at least one core architecture domain—particularly within Network Architecture—and a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide transformation, establishing architectural standards, and guiding teams through solution design and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level leadership on architecture vision, strategy, and governance across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with business and IT leaders to translate complex requirements into high-level solution designs and long-term roadmaps.
• Serve as a trusted partner to product and engineering leadership, balancing innovation with stability and scalability.
• Develop and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and reference materials to ensure consistent solution delivery.
• Lead architecture review processes, including design governance, exception management, and roadmap alignment.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that support digital transformation.
• Mentor and guide other architects and engineers, promoting architectural best practices and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7–9 years of enterprise architecture experience across one or more IT domains.
• Strong expertise in Network technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, or Microsoft network solutions.
• In-depth understanding of:
• Network Automation & Monitoring
• Advanced Routing/Switching (BFD, BGP, etc.)
• Cisco ACI, ISE, SD-WAN
• Wireless, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Secure Network Architectures
• Cloud Networking (Azure/AWS) and Unified Communications
• Experience with API-first design and integration best practices.
• Proven experience with both on-premise and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Proficiency in LeanIX, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF or ITIL.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive architectural excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in application development, systems management, or project management.
• Excellent consultative and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
